BT Young Scientist 2016
With the help of their teacher Lara Kelly, 10 students entered the competition this year.
5th years, Elyssa Curran and Aisling Connolly researched the benefits of using vermicompost V peat, in the growing of trees. They came third in their category. Well done!
4th years were represented by two projects:
1. Noah Mc Carthy Fisher ‘What would it take?, a study iinto the renewable energy needs of a small village’
2. Culann Mc Carthy and Andrew Cahier ‘Hand hygiene and absenteeism’
3rd years were represented by Aoife Nash, Tarah Fleming and Hollie Collins. Their project was about the benefits of rewarding young children for eating fruit and vegetables.
2nd years were represented by Martin Fleming and Luke Franklin. Their project was based on Dublin Bay prawns.
The E.T.B congratulated the students on such a successful event and wish them best of luck in their Scientific futures.
This year a group of 80 students travelled to visit the exhibition and support the students.
