Many world class sailors have honed their skills at Schull Community College. All first years partake in a sailing taster and are welcome to join the Schull Community College Sailing Club which operates out of our onsite sailing centre, the Fastnet Marine Outdoor Education Centre.
The SCC Sailing Club offers Saturday Sailing for its student members throughout the year. Schull CC sailors have represented Ireland at individual and team international events. In the past Schull CC team racing squads have travelled to Boston to compete against the best US sailing teams.
Sailing Academy
In 2015 the Schull CC Sailing Academy was established, an intensive high performance sailing programme available to SCC students and students from other schools who are in Transition Year. The Academy provides sailing training for a range of sailing abilities in the dedicated facilities of the FMOEC, while also taking an active part in Transition Year in Schull Community College.
